CSS Web Design and Tutorial

Easy css (cascading style sheets) may seem something of a contradiction in terms to you, especially if you are a long term html user, but a combination of the right css web design software and a good tutorial can make this child's play.

It helps if you have a smattering of knowledge about html, but the truth is the less you know the better, particularly with regard to tables, which are made completely redundant by using css.

That's just one of the many advantages. You can, for example, change the entire color scheme of your website and even its layout just by editing one page of easy to read code - and I do mean easy. It's as close to normal english as you will get and since you set your own tags, much more easily understood by a novice than html.

In many ways css is still in its infancy and there are surprisingly few editors available - partly, I suspect, because an editor is not really all that necessary once you know what you are trying to do. An ordinary text pad such as Notepad will do. But editors do speed things up, especially when working alongside html.

I now use one which is an absolute delight. It's basically an html editor (and an extremely good one) which has css tags and codes built in. It practically does the job for you. It's made by a company called Blumentals Softwarewho also produce a pure css editor, as well as a few other examples of excellent publishing software.

The software is so intuitive that by following the help files you could probably learn how to program in css just by using it, but there is also another excellent tutorial available which will definitely speed things up for you. It's the one I used and I found both the manual and the extended library of videos invaluable. Everything is covered in simple, beginners language and there is even a free css editor built in so that you can practice as you learn.
