How to Write an eBook

You may believe that you do not need to learn how to write an ebook because you are already a published writer in the more established world of offline publishing. If that is the case, I strongly advise you to think again if you wish to successfully write and publish your own book online.

There is a big difference between the two forms of publishing and that is particularly true in terms of construction and presentation. What works for a hard cover library book simply does not work when it comes to writing an ebook and publishing it on the internet. Understanding this will make the difference between writing an ebook and writing a great ebook.

There are a number of publications available offering  instructions on how to create or make an ebook and I have read many of them. The best free one I came across is written by Shellery Lowery, herself a writer of ebooks.

Whilst it's true that her complete guide to ebook publishing is aimed at creating an ebook in html format, it contains so much good advice about online publishing that I have no hesitation in mentioning it. If you download it, you will also see what is possible using the right ebook compiler without any need for a special reader such as Adobe.

But good as it is, it is not the book which had (and still has) the most influence on me, nor is it the one that I return to time and time again. In fact, to describe Make Your knowledge Sell as a book is really to undersell it. A much better description would be a complete ebook writing instruction course from initial concept to final sales.

The two principal names behind this work are Ken Evoy and Monique Harris, who have each become something of a household name when it comes to providing information products, and while their book is not free it really is the only guide you need to create, write, publish and market your ebook.

However you may be one of those people who is in a bit of a hurry not just to get started, but to finish as well, and there is a remarkable little book that can help you achieve this.

Written by a chap called Jim Edwards, Write an eBook in 7 Days has much more to offer than it's title might suggest and it does prove that what at first seems impossible can be done.

Personally, when I first saw the website I thought the claim was ridiculous and the page stuffed full of hype, but I bought the book anyway since it had a money back guarantee. I followed the instructions and produced 'First Aid in the Kitchen' in 6 days. It works.
