ebooks

Writing and publishing an e-book online is a
snap.
All you need is the idea (and we'll go into that a bit later), a few essential tools, plus the knowledge of where and how to market your finished
ebook or electronic info product.
But why would you want to do it in the first place?
The easy answer is to make money, and in some cases lots of it. If that's in the back of your mind I suggest you leave it there for the time
being. There's still a long way to go before the e-dollars start rolling in. :0)
It's all about passion.....
Think instead of the great satisfaction to be had from seeing your own work in print - of sharing your passion with other
people.
I say passion because that's really what it takes to see your ebook through to the end. An enthusiasm for what you are writing about and
what you want to pass on to your readers.
It may be something to do with your job, a hobby, an experience you went through that you can help other people with, or just an interest you
want to share.
Whatever it is that you feel you want to write about, if you are not passionate about your info home-based product, if it is not
something that really, truly, deeply interests you - stop right now.
Because if you're not enthusiastic about your online book, no-one else is going to be either, and that includes works of fiction as well as
non-fiction. The fact is, the thing that really sells an ebook - or any book for that matter - is you, the writer.
It's your feelings for the subject which are held up to the spotlight and must not be found wanting. So choose it with care.
Before you write even a single word, spend some time brainstorming your topic. Get to the bottom of what aspect of it really interests you. Then
concentrate on that.
You may find, for example, that your interest in gardening really boils down to a passion for growing tomatoes, or that your love of cooking
actually revolves around bread-making.
Arriving at a conclusion like this will achieve two things. It will point you in the direction of a niche market where you are most likely to
make sales (and where you will face the least amount of competition), plus it will establish the area where you may quickly be seen to be the
expert.
This is important. Plenty of people know about hiking. But how many have an intimate knowledge of, say, the Appalachian trail? Or even a
particular section of it? What are the special problems? What equipment should you carry? Where do you sleep? And so on.
Grasp these fundamentals early on and the rest will be plain sailing.
